i have finally interviewed pete rose!

at 4:30 in the morning i dragged my tired butt out of bed and stumbled into the kitchen for some much-needed coffee. pete was already waiting for my call when i rang him [he is, of course, 5 hours ahead of EST]. we had a very nice conversation, and i really enjoyed learning more about pete the perv. i also laughed a lot-->by 10:30 am [his time] he was already working on a whiskey to accompany his cigarette.  ah, the british lifestyle. . . 

at one point, i was trying to get pete to record a little promo for the podcast. i had in mind something like the promos on radio stations, where all of a sudden you hear something like, "hi, i'm alice cooper, and you're listening to WKRP in Cincinatti!" the only problem was that pete could not remember his line to save his life! i was trying to get him to say, "hi, this is pete rose, and you're listening to the portal-podcast." but he kept forgetting what to call the podcast, and we kept giggling like schoolgirls.   nonetheless, pete persevered and got it down.

unfortunately, chainsaw willie! couldn't join us for the interview as planned. he is away for a bit, but i think he will enjoy hearing the interview.
